Gluten Free Bakery Caramel Slice
I love a good, easy dessert, and this one is definitely good!
The slices are a generous size, the caramel is sweet but not sickly, the biscuit base is light (but doesn't crumble like some gluten free bases do), and the milk and white marble chocolate top adds a nice little point of difference. Plus, the pattern makes it look a little more fancy than some of the others on the market!
All of these add up to a great little dessert. This one would also be perfect to add to a dessert board, and if it was going in amongst other cakes and slices, I would cut the pieces in half again, to make finger slices (I think you can get away with smaller pieces when it's caramel slice, because it is a little sweeter than other desserts).
I also love that this one comes into my local store frozen, so I can keep one in the freezer, and take it out if we have a friend suggest a last minute coffee catch up - or if we just feel like something sweet at the end of a long week.
I buy the caramel slice from the gluten free freezer at Padstow Food Services, but you can also find a full list of suppliers on the Gluten Free Bakery website, if you aren't in Sydney's South/West.
If you try it, please let me know what you think of it - but I really don't think you'll be disappointed!
